What read range can I expect from UHF RFID?
Fixed readers with 9 dBi antennas typically read passive UHF tags at 6–10 metres; handheld readers reach 3–6 metres. Range depends on tag size and the material of the tagged item, which is why we run a site survey first.
Do RFID tags work on metal assets?
Standard labels do not, but on-metal tags with a foam or ceramic spacer do. We supply on-metal tags for laptops, tools, generators and racks.
How much does an RFID tag cost in the UAE?
Printable UHF labels start from roughly AED 0.60 each in rolls of 1,000; durable on-metal and laundry tags cost more. Volume pricing is available for warehouse and retail deployments.
Can RFID replace barcodes completely?
For internal inventory and assets, yes. For retail checkout most businesses run RFID and barcodes side by side, because supplier products still arrive with barcodes.
